Anthony J. Ruggiero Jr. a longtime resident of Tarrytown, passed away on September 6, 2010. He was 47.

Mr. Ruggiero was born on October 23, 1962 to Anthony J. and Mary Scheid Ruggiero in the Bronx. He worked for the Tarrytown Department of Public Works for 29 years where he was currently serving as Highway Department Foreman.

He was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School's Class of 1980. He was also a 29 year active member and Ex- Captain of the Hope Hose Co. # 1 of the Tarrytown Fire Department. He was also named as an Honorary Chief of the Tarrytown Fire Department.

He was an avid lover of his home, his yard, and pond as well as golf, comedy and Las Vegas. He also really loved lunches with "the crew".

He is survived by his wife Ellen Fragiacomo Ruggiero of Tarrytown, his daughters Andrea and Erica of Tarrytown as well as his father Anthony J. of Boca Raton, Fl. He is also survived by his sisters Dorinne Ruggiero of Tarrytown, and Danielle Ruggiero (Eddie) Santiago of West Harrison, his Father and Mother-In-Law John and Nancy Fragiacomo of Wilmington, NC his Sisters in Law Wendy Fragiacomo (Michael) Duke of Wilmington, NC and Jona Fragiacomo (Doug) Dean of East Irvington as well as 6 nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wed. from 7-9 PM & Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME INC. in Tarrytown. His Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Friday at Transfiguration Church with interment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
