John Kelly, a lifelong resident of the Tarrytowns died suddenly on September 6, 2010 at the age of 51.

Born in North Tarrytown on March 1, 1959, he was the son of Richard J. and Odette Palais Kelly.

John worked in Highway Maintenance for New York State DOT in Eastview.

He was a very active volunteer and was an active member of Conqueror Hook and Ladder and the Tarrytown Fire Department for 33 years where he had served as Captain, Chief Driver and most recently promoted to Honorary Chief of the Tarrytown Fire Department.

In addition he was also a proud member of Fire Boat 5 of the Tarrytown Fire Department, the Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corps and Town of Greenburgh Civil Defense.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Brianna Kelly of Croton and his sisters Maureen (John) Chebetar of Sleepy Hollow and Michelle (Robert) Casarella of Tarrytown. He is also survived by his Aunt Dorothy Kelly and Uncle Robert Kelly both of Tarrytown as well as several nieces, a nephew and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Butch.

Visitation will be at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 3-9 PM. His Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Fireman's Home, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson, NY 12534 would be appreciated.
