After extensive research and many school visits to find the perfect school environment to shoot their 2012 national promotional campaign, College Board, the organization which provides resources, tools and services to students, parents, colleges and universities in the areas of college planning, recruitment and admissions, and financial aid, chose Sleepy Hollow High School as the setting for its 2012 national promotion.
In early December, Sleepy Hollow High School, its students, staff, and faculty welcomed a team of photographers, make-up artists, fashion designers, and other personnel from the Chapter Media team to our school. The team began the process with auditions for both staff and students to participate in the photo shoot. After hundred of auditions, 50 Sleepy Hollow High School students and 10 faculty members were selected to be photographed for the national campaign. The team at Chapter Media utilized a high school classroom and photographed students and faculty over the course of two days.
The photos will be used by College Board on their promotional materials, such as PSAT and SAT preparation material, as well as promotional posters, which are typically found in high school guidance offices around the country.
Tyler Pappas, Executive Producer of the Chapter Media, wrote to Sleepy Hollow High School Principal, Mrs. Carol Conklin-Spillane, regarding the team’s experience at Sleepy Hollow High: “In a school so full of enthusiastic teachers and students, we had trouble narrowing it down to the sixty who participated. The fact that each and every one of the students selected was so thoughtful and respectful was an added advantage that we fully appreciate. All of the teachers who participated were a joy to work with as well. In short – I don’t know how you do what you do, but Carol, you are doing it right!”
