Frank D. Rizzi, 91, Life-Long Sleepy Hollow Resident

Visitation will be this Tuesday and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday the 17th.

 

Frank D. Rizzi, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow died August 13, 2011 at the age of 91.

Born in N. Tarrytown on March 18, 1920, he was the son of Thomas and Maria Codella Rizzi. Frank graduated from North Tarrytown High School in 1940. He went on to serve in the United States Army during World War II.

Frank worked in the Materials Department at General Motors and retired after 30 years with the company.

He was a former vice president of Local 664 of the UAW and had been a Shop Committeeman. He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department since 1946. He was a Life Active member and former President of Columbia Hose. He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Seniors and ITALO. He was also very active in local politics where he worked in many capacities for the Republican Party.

Frank is survived by his loving daughter Bonnie (Lawrence) Hutta of Mohegan Lake and his loving granddaughters Cherene (Ryan) Keenan and Channa Hutta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his longtime companion Florence Agosta. He was predeceased by his sisters Lucy Brown and Rose Zema.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home where services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
