High-school wrestling

Croton-Harmon and Hackley got at it on the wrestling mat on Jan. 26.

Hackley jumped out to a 24-0 lead then the Tigers rallied to go up 31-30 before Hackley came back in a 39-31 triumph for the visiting Hornets.

Girls hoops bracketology

For years bracketology has become a mainstay in the months leading up to college basketball's March Madness and now it has reached high school, thanks to MSG Varsity's Kevin Devaney Jr.

Bracketology is foreshadowing where a team's seed will be in the postseason, using the various formulas the powers that be use to decide each team's fate.

Currently, Devaney has, if the season ended today, the Sleepy Hollow girls basketball squad as the No. 8 seed in the Class A tournament.

Sleepy JV hoops

The below was taken from the Sleepy Hollow Athletic Department website.:

The Sleepy Hollow boys’ junior varsity basketball team lost on Friday evening, January 27th to Ardsley 54-36. After a slow start the boys played a great 2nd half and showed a lot of heart by playing hard until the end.

The Horsemen were led by Henry Hargatai who had 13 points followed by Mike Fortugno who pitched in with 11. Up next for the boys jv is an away game at Eastchester Tuesday January 31st after the varsity game.
