Longtime Resident Elizabeth Naples Dies at 78

Elizabeth 'Betty' Naples of Largo, FL was a longtime resident of Tarrytown, born here in 1934.

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Naples of Largo, FL died peacefully on January 16, 2013 at the age of 78.  She was a longtime Tarrytown resident having been born in Tarrytown on September 24, 1934. She was the daughter of Eleanor Curtin. Betty graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1953. She was married to Anthony J. Naples and together they raised their six children.

Betty was a member and former president of the Riverside Hose Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children Debra (Don) Coleman of Yonkers, Cheryl Cappello of Sleepy Hollow, JoAnn Sullivan of Tarrytown, Anthony (fiancé Matilda Rodriguez) of Largo, FL and John (Donna) of Seminole, FL.  She was also the loving grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 4. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 2001, her son Michael in 1977 and her brother Andrew Cupryna in 2009.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday Jan 23 from 2-4 an 7-9 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:00 at Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
