NYSP: DWI Arrest, 23 Traffic Tickets on Super Bowl Sunday

The following is from the New York State Police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

 

The New York State Police reported handing out 23 traffic tickets and performing one Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated arrest on Super Bowl Sunday.

During a "roving DWI saturation detail" in Westchester County, Julian Pena of Yonkers was stopped for speeding and subsequently arrested on the Sprain Brook Parkway. Police report the 28-year-old was processed at NYSP's Hawthorne department, where a breath test revealed his blood alcohol content (BAC) measured in at .20 percent. He is due back in Greenburgh Court on February 13.

Also during the detail, state police reported issuing 23 traffic tickets:

  • 10 speeding violations
  • 2 seat belt violations
  • 3 cell phone violations
  • 8 "other" traffic infractions
