Police Beat – Sleepy Hollow: Barber Brawl, Creepy Shower
A summary of incidents in Sleepy Hollow from November 4, 2011 to November 11, 2011
The Sleepy Hollow Police Department reported the following incidents:
Nov. 4
6:59 p.m. Walk-in complainant stated she was in a car with a friend at N. Washington Street when her friend’s boyfriend smashed the window of her car with a piece of wood. Ambulance was dispatched to transport her to Phelps Memorial Hospital to treat a laceration above her eye from the glass. Case is under investigation.
11:09 p.m. Multiple callers reported a fight at 85-87 Cortlandt Street, with one party down and over 40 surrounding scene. All Sleepy Hollow units and some Tarrytown units were dispatched to scene where they interviewed parties possibly involved. All present in D. John’s Barber Shop refused to cooperate. A witness stated male known as “Pro” was punched and kicked while down on the ground. Male was located with no visible injuries and refused to talk to police or receive medical attention.
Nov. 10
8:57 a.m. Caller reported that her Kingsland Road house was locked and secured while she was taking a shower. When finished with her shower she noticed her front door open. She went to a friend’s house where she notified the police, who checked residence and found all to be in order. Caller returned home.
10:25 p.m. Walk-in reported witnessing a dark colored Toyota Corolla spin out of control on Bellwood Avenue, strike a fence and then leave the scene. Witness was unable to get license plate or see who was driving. Officers confirmed damage to fence of the Philips Manor Restoration opposite 420 Bellwood and took pictures for the record.
