12:11 p.m. Caller reported that on Dec. 14 at approximately 11 a.m. she was approached by two black males who sold her steaks in the Stop & Shop parking lot near Iris Nails. She now felt that this was suspicious and had contacted S&S about same. Caller was advised not to eat the steaks.

Dec. 19

8:01 a.m. Caller reported a bicycle was stolen overnight. Complainant stated he had left a red mountain bike on a North Washington Street porch at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and when he returned at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 19 the bike was missing. That day at 1 p.m., officers stopped a male on Main Street opposite the municipal lot in possession of a red rusted mountain bike. It was found bike was not the stolen bike but interviewed party said he observed a similar bike at 1 River Plaza earlier that day. The bike was indeed located there near the parking garage area. Complainant confirmed that was the one taken from his property and bicycle was returned to its owner.

Dec. 20

5:06 a.m. Verizon operator transferred a call to the TTPD from a caller who dialed zero asking for police assistance. He said he was at the Hilton Hotel in a closet. Caller seemed confused and said that he was at the hotel with seven family members and had a reservation to eat, but the hotel put him in a closet while they waited. Officers went to the Doubletree where staff reported no reservations or guests under that name. Further investigation yielded the caller phone number to be in Yonkers. Information forwarded to Yonkers PD to check on caller's welfare.

After she pulled into the first space northbound on North Broadway just past Neperan Road, an unknown male began yelling at her over the parking space. The unknown male reportedly removed something from his trunk and began to approach her vehicle, prompting her to leave the area and call the police 10 minutes later. She declined to pursue the matter and wanted the incident noted for the record.

Note: Police Beat is in no way a complete summary of all Tarrytown Police activities and responses during the listed dates.
