Police: Bicyclist Injured from Hit-and-Run

Tarrytown Police charged an Ossining man with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

A 21-year-old Tarrytown man was struck by a car while riding his bike at the intersection of Broadway and Main Street, police report. 

Tarrytown police report the accident happened at 1:11 a.m. on March 31. The driver, in a black Toyota with NY plates, allegedly fled the scene, continuing north on North Broadway into Sleepy Hollow.

Police stopped the driver in Sleepy Hollow near the intersection of North Broadway and Bedford Road.

Jose R. Llerena Garaicoa, 25, of Ossining, was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

The bicyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center. Medical personnel at the scene reported to police that the victim was not suffering any serious physical injuries. The bike was secured at police headquarters and the car was temporarily left in a private lot on Beekman Avenue.
