Police: Coyotes Surround Sleepy Hollow House

Sleepy Hollow Police responded to a local home where they found multiple coyotes in the yard, apparently attracted by a unique offering from the homeowner.

Police receive a good amount of calls for coyote sightings in both villages – there were two in Tarrytown last week – but none quite like this:

On Jan. 23 at 6:16 p.m., a Hunter Avenue resident told police that there were at least three coyotes in front of the house. The coyotes were howling and appeared to have the house “surrounded.”

Police arrived on the scene to scare off the coyotes. They spoke with an adult who said that the homeowners had placed coyote urine in the yard to keep the deer away.
