Power remains out across the county as a result of this weekend's winds and heavy rains.
Over 67,000 homes are without power in the county, more than 500 of those customers are in Tarrytown. A smaller portion have their power out in Sleepy Hollow and Pocantico Hills.
Con Edison has yet to give approximate times as to when power will return, but said in a statement that power restoration efforts would "last throughout the week."
Con Ed stated some residences currently with electricity may experience a loss of power as they begin to work on power lines. These outages should be temporary, but could last 2 or 3 hours.
To deal with the lack of power, Con Edison has set up distribution centers for dry ice (see locations below). Greenburgh has set up a warming center for residents as well (see below). The possibility of prolonged power outages has prompted some local officials to appeal to residents to check on their neighbors.
"If you know of an elderly resident/disabled resident who you are worried about who you can't contact and who may be out of power - please advise and we'll check up on them," said Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
Con Ed is also warning residents of the possibility of more trees falling, and reiterated that people should not approach downed power lines.
In Tarrytown, two roads remain closed as a result of downed trees: Warren Ave. at Neperan Rd., and Irving Ave. at Neperan Rd. Wilson Park Dr. was reopened earlier today. Tarrytown residents between Benedict Ave. and Neperan Rd. are continuing to deal with flooding in the area.
According to the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department, no roads are closed in the village. There was only one report of flooding in Philipse Manor. There was also a call for a potential fire at Kykuit – but it turned out to be smoke from a generator.
