Calling all Sleepy Hollow High Lacrosse alumni:

From Rui Girao: I am sending this info to inform you all that the 3rd Annual Sleepy Hollow Lacrosse Alumni Game is official, scheduled for:

Saturday, June 1st, 2013 at 1 p.m. (rain date will be Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 at 1:00pm) at Sleepy Hollow High School.

We are looking into having 1 or 2 youth games before our alumni game. For more information and to sign up, click here.

Our weekly round-up of Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown grads in college action from Dick Miller:

At the Larry Ellis Invitational Track and Field Meet at Princeton University on Apr. 20th, Gillian Berger of Sleepy Hollow and The University of Pennsylvania had a distance of 18-02.50 in the Women's Long Jump competition. She finished sixth of 22 competitors in the non-scoring meet.

In a 4-2 loss to the host Seton Hall University Pirates on Apr.17th, Max Bruckner of Sleepy Hollow and Iona College pitched 1.1 innings of relief. He surrendered one run on one hit, walked one batter, and had one wild pitch, but did not figure in the decision. In a single game at Marist Collegeon Apr. 21st, he entered the game in inning three, and pitched 2.2 innings. He gave up up two runs on seven hit, and issued one free pass before being relieved, and was not involved in the decision. The host Red Foxes won, 10-1. The record is 6-33/2-13.

In the second of two games at home with Oneonta State on Apr. 20th, Jamie Bucci of Sleepy Hollow and Cortland's Red Dragons entered the game as a pinch hitter, had one steal, and then was the designated player in the 9-1 win. The record is now 16-12/9-3.

On Apr. 20th, in a meet at home with seven other teams, The College of the Holy Cross finished in fifth place, with eighty-seven points. Rob Cacace of The Hackley School finished tenth in the Men's Pole Vault, with a height of 11'11". He was eleventh in the Men's Discus Throw, attaining a distance of 81-09.

At the Greyhound Invitational track and field meet held at Moravian College on Apr. 20th, Darnell Davis of Hackley and Muhlenberg finished twenty-fourth of forty-seven runners in the Men's 400 Meter race, clocked at 53.20.

At Kenyon College on Apr. 20th, Kendra Epstein of Hackley and Denison University, finished 15th in the women's Long Jump, with her distance of 4:26 meters. She was 17th in the women's 100 meter sprint, with a clocking of 14:51 seconds. Her school was 9th of 12 in the meet, with 17 points.

At Cornell University in a double header on Apr. 20th, Samantha Erosa of Hackley and The University had one run and one hit, plus three putouts and one assist in the 13-0 blanking of hosts Cornell University. In the 10-9 squeaker loss to the Big Red in the second game, she singled up the middle in the third inning, to drive in a run. Then, in the sixth frame, she blasted a two run round tripper which put the Quakers ahead, 4-3. However, the hosts rallied with four runs in the bottom of inning seven, to prevail 10-9. Erosa also fanned once and had five assists in the game. In a sweep of the hosts on Apr. 21st, she had one run on one hit, and made three putouts and had an assist at second base. Erosa batted two for four, scored two runs, had three putouts, and stole home in the 6-2 win in game two. The slugging second sacker's batting average of .379 is 30 points above that of her next highest teammate, and the Quakers have a season average of 24-16/13-3, with five games to go in the regular season.

In the Bill Cup regatta with Boston University on Apr. 20th, the Dartmouth V4 first crew finished behind the hosts, 7:16.1 to 7:22.3, with Will Johnson of Hackley a rower for the Big Green.

In a 5-2 loss to the Bucknell University Bisons on Apr. 16th, Ali Kaminetsky of Hackley and Lehigh University's women's tennis team, dropped her singles match, 6-4, and 7-6(7-3). Then she and her tennis partner dropped theirs as well, 8-5.

In the second  of two games at home with Gettysburgh College on Apr. 20th, Conor McDermott of Hackley and Muhlenberg was the Mules' catcher in the 8-0 loss. He had seven putouts in the game, as his nine's record stands at 23-13/9-4.

In a two day track meet at Widener University on Apr. 19th and 20th, Genevieve Ruppel of Sleepy Hollow and St. Joseph's University finished fifth of 42 runners in the women's 100 meter dash, with a time of 13:03.
