Stay Warm, Save Money, Have Fun
This weekend's family energy fair informed and entertained all ages.
The following is from a press release supplied by the Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council:
On Saturday, over 100 people came out for the Stay Warm, Save Money family energy fair held at John Paulding School.
The event primarily offered information on lowering electricity and heating bills, with talks from Con Edison, New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA), local contractors and Westchester-based organizations.
Participating organizations included the Middle School Environmental Club, which was promoting their no-bags campaign and local solar and environmental contractors SunBlue Energy and BKSolutions LLC. There were also representatives promoting the Love ‘Em and Leave ‘Em campaign to encourage citizens to mow leaves into their lawns instead of having them hauled out of town.
Children were also treated to green-themed puppet shows by Jilly Puppets, a pedal-a-watt bicycle and a knitting demonstration by Flying Fingers.
The event was organized by the Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Councils and was sponsored by the EPTA. Coffee Labs also supported the event by providing complimentary refreshments.
