Hackley's JV girls hoops squad opened with an exciting game.

Welcome to Patch's daily snapshot of sports in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.

Hackley JV girls hoops

Hackley played a nailbiter at Convent of the Sacred Heart-CT on Dec. 2 but fell just short 19-18.

Numerous Hackley players made contributions in the game and if they play like that all season, this winter will be an exciting one for the Hornets.

Hackley plays at St. Luke's today at 4:30 p.m.

Sleepy Hollow half-marathon

Registration is being accepted now for the second annual Sleepy Hollow half-marathon, which will take place at 9:30 a.m. March 24, 2012.

Cash awards will go to the top three overall male and female finishers.
