Weekend Planner: Eaglefest, Family Energy Fair, Super Bowl Carnival
It's a round-up of area events for your Super Bowl weekend, including some that have nothing to do with football.
Stay Cozy/Save Money - A Family Energy Fair
When/Where: Saturday, February 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John Paulding School gym located at 154 North Broadway.
Why Go: "Everyone wants to stay warm during winter, but not many people realize they can do this without impacting the environment or their pocketbooks," said Susan Schwarz, a member of the Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council hosting the fair along with the Sleepy Hollow EAC. "There are many quick and easy tips, and long-term investments, that families can utilize to save money in 2012."
Information on lowering your electricity and heating bills will be presented by Con Edison, New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA), local contractors and Westchester-based organizations. There will also be tips for the whole family on saving gas, lowering waste, gardening, hiking and biking.
Sleepy Hollow puppeteer Jilly Puppets will be performing with her puppets. There is a chance for kids to use a pedal-a-watt bicycle which will demonstrate just how much energy it takes to brighten a lightbulb. Flying Fingers will also hold a knitting workshop at noon for children and their parents. Refreshments will be available for all.

Hudson River Eaglefest 2012: Sleepy Hollow
Where/When: In addition to all the festivities (below) at Croton Point Park, bird watchers can celebrate the day right here at Kingsland Point Park's Kathryn W. Davis Riverwalk Center, Sleepy Hollow, Saturday, Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: This is one of additional eagle viewing locations set up along the Hudson River, each staffed by eagle experts with spotting scopes. When it’s time to warm up, take a break in the heated tents and enjoy a hot cocoa. Walkabout Clearwater Chorus from 11am-12pm; Beczak Environmental Education Center presents family activities from 12pm-4pm; Teatown Lake Reservation presents an animal ambassador program at 2pm; Art activities with Scenic Hudson

Hudson River Eaglefest 2012
Where/When: Saturday, February 4, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Croton Point Park
Why Go: To honor the majestic eagles of the Hudson, enjoy activities—from guided and independent eagle viewing to storytelling, children’s programs, bird walks and displays from 30 local collaborators. This event is hosted by Teatown Lake Reservation and includes entertaining and educational shows that will take place all day long in The Eagle Theatre and Eaglet Stage heated tents.
Riverfront Green Park in Peekskill will feature a storytelling presentation from Jonathan Kruk, a falconer with a live demonstration, and ice sculptures. The City of Peekskill is also providing a free round trip shuttle bus from Croton Point Park to Riverfront Green all day.
Price: Advance sale tickets for Eagle Theatre shows are $5 each, $10 at the door. Kids ages 3 and under are free. Travel by charter bus at 9:30am or 2 p.m. with a Teatown educator for an in-depth view of eagles in their natural habitat, for guests ages 12 and over. Tickets are $25 per person. Lewisboro PTA Circus at Lewisboro Elementary School
When/Where: Saturday, February 4, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lewisboro Elementary School.
Why Go: Come support LES at this fun-filled carnival that will have you believing that you are spending the day at the circus. There is something for everyone: The Big Top Cafe, exciting games and crafts for preschool and elementary children, inflatable obstacle course, a pocket clown, balloon animals, dancing, cake walk, fun science, children's raffle baskets and much more.
Price: Tickets are 1 for $1, 12 for $10, or 25 for $20
Super Bowl Family Carnival at Katonah Elementary School
When/Where: Saturday, February 4 from 2-4 p.m. at Katonah Elementary School
Why Go: The Bedford Recreation and Parks Department is offering an open afternoon of carnival-style activities and contests. The kids can travel from station to station testing their skills at challenging games or creating easy-to-make holiday crafts. All the activities should take about an hour, so it is billed as an “open event” afternoon where families can come and go at their leisure.

Ricky Nelson Remembered
When/Where: Saturday, February 4, 8 p.m. at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill
Why Go: Take in this multi-media homage to Ricky Nelson, featuring the live music of Ricky Nelson's hit songs (including “Hello Mary Lou", "Travelin' Man”, “Garden Party") performed by Ricky's twin sons Matthew & Gunnar. The evening includes never before seen big screen video footage of the Nelson family with interviews from celebrities influenced by Ricky Nelson. Many generations will celebrate the life of America’s original ‘Teen Idol.’

Camp Fair 2012
When/Where: Sunday, February 5, 12 noon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains
Why Go: Hosted by NY Metro Parents, the annual Westchester Camp Fair is an event for families to meet more than 50 day and sleepaway camps that will be on hand at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains. Parents can peruse a host of local programs and accredited camps from the Mid-Atlantic States and New England. Seminars and workshops include how to choose a first camp and how to choose a sleepaway camp.

Puppeteer Peter Linz Visits Little Joe’s Books
When/Where: Saturday, February 4, 2 p.m. at Little’s Joe’s Books
Why Go: Peter Linz, the renowned puppeteer and “Walter” of the new Muppet movie (and who also performed the Oscar-nominated song” Man or Muppet"), will visit the Katonah book store. He will bring “Theodore the Lion” to meet the crowd.

Art-Cycle, Recycle at Yorktown Library
When/Where: Saturday, February 4, 10:30 a.m. at the Yorktown Library
Why Go: Better our planet while having fun with art and supporting a Girl Scout Silver Award project. Make some cool crafts from recycled materials. Registration required.

Crazy Superbowl Hat Making Day
When/Where: Saturday, February 4, 10:30 am. at the Larchmont Library
Why Go: For kids ages 7 and up. Calling all football fans: come tackle a project at the library in a craft blitz. Kick off Super Bowl Sundayweekend by making funky hats using foam and duct tape.
