Where Does an Old Overpass Go in the Night?
Video and images from yesterday's late night removal of the temporary overpass at the train station.
Perhaps you arrived at the train station this morning and found yourself surprised by how quickly things change there these days, seemingly overnight.
Well they do happen overnight. Around 10 p.m., MTA crews were at work disconnecting a large section of the northernmost temporary overpass, lifting it by way of super-tall crane, and depositing it on a flatbed truck to be driven away.
To where? A crewmember sauntered over while Patch was filming and proudly told us he was one responsible for the rigging of this operation; now this piece of a bridge they rented will be dismantled in the Tarrytown Firefighter Training Yard nearby and move along to some other site.
"Like an erector set," he said. "Glad you're enjoying the show."
