Nearly all local restaurants will be open on Valentine's Day, Monday, Feb. 14, including those usually closed on Mondays. Jack & Dyl's in Tarrytown and Finalmente in Sleepy Hollow will be closed.

Many eateries will offer special prix-fixe dinners on Valentine's Day including Bistro Z ($50), Blue Hill at Stone Barns ($195), Chiboust ($70), Equus ($98), Moon River Grill ($45), Ruth's Chris Steak House ($42.95 and $49.95), Santa Fe ($18), SB&G (price not yet set), Sunset Cove ($45 to $60) and Tarry Tavern ($50).

Nearly all restaurants plan to supplement their regular menus with seasonal or cupid-associated specials such as oysters. Many will provide special desserts such as chocolate dipped strawberries. Tyrynda Thai will serve a pear baked in rum with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce.

Some restaurants, including Bridge View Tavern, Caravela and Que Chula es Puebla, will provide roses for the ladies.

Tarrytown Valentine’s Day Celebration Guide

DoubleTree: The DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown will present a Valentine’s Murder Mystery Package for $329 per couple. The overnight package centered around murder mystery includes a cocktail reception, four-course dinner, champagne, wine, beer, dancing, overnight accommodation and breakfast. This will occur from Saturday to Sunday, February 12-13.

Bistro Z  (DoubleTree). 524-6410. Open on Valentine's Day for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Both prix-fixe menu (available Feb. 12-14) at $50 and regular menu are available. Prix-fixe entrees: roasted Chilean sea bass with braised red Swiss chard and baby golden beets, pan roasted pheasant with wild mushroom risotto and white truffle oil, pecan crusted rack of lamb with sweet potato gratin.
