YAI's Gala Wine Tasting and Silent Auction to Jump-Start October

Festive evening will benefit YAI in Tarrytown.

The Tarrytown Day Services Program of YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities in Tarrytown will hold its 10thannual Wine Tasting Benefit October 1 at the Westchester Marriott Hotel, 671 White Plains Road.

During the evening there will be a Silent Auction featuring – among other items - Disney World Park Hopper passes; spa gift certificates; and tickets to Westchester Broadway Theatre.

Tickets are $40 per person and $75 per two people (in advance; door admission is $45 per person). YAI is currently seeking donations for the silent auction and will also accept donations to offset costs.

Since 1957, YAI has had a proud history of providing services to thousands of children and adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.

At the Tarrytown Day Services location, adults of all ages and levels of ability, participate in their communities by maximizing their personal development in activities of daily living and social skills.

"The staff and consumers at our Tarrytown Multiservice Center and the Elmsford Day Habilitation Program (day programs for adults with developmental disabilities) spend much of their day doing volunteer work in the community and at other not-for-profit organization," said Bonnie Dougan, Program Supervisor.

These agencies include, among others, the United Way of Westchester & Putnam; the Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce; the Family YMCA at Tarrytown; Student Advocacy Inc. in Elmsford; and the Elmsford Animal Shelter.
