Westchester County residents are invited to bring paper they would like to have shredded to the Sleepy Hollow site. Examples of items to save for shredding include pre-approved credit card applications, old credit card bills, receipts, bank statements, old tax returns or any other documents which contain your name, address, and other identifying information.

Please note:

  • that paper generated by businesses, scolls, institutions, govenrment or municipal offices is not accepted at these events.
  • each resident may bring a maximum of 4 file boxes, approximately 10" x 12" x 15" in size.
  • all paper must be free of clips, binding, folders and files.
  • no bound or hardcover ledger books are allowed.

The building between the Police Department and the Fire Department opened in 1940 and continues to operate as Sleepy Hollow's municipal center. Village Hall currently houses the Justice Court, Administrator's Office, Architecture and Building Department, Finance Department and Recreation Department. The Village Board of Trustees meetings are held in the meeting room on the second floor of Village Hall. Trustee meetings are open to the public and usually fall on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
