Local Firefighters Making the Rounds for Fire Prevention Week

Each day, Patch provides the nuts and bolts of local happenings with our five-bullet local dispatch.

1) It's Fire Prevention Week and our Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown firefighters are busy educating the people, young and old, on how to do just that. The kids of Elizabeth Mascia Daycare center got a visit from the Tarrytown Fire Department, pictured here. Classes at New Beginnings nursery will get a special visit this Thursday. This Sunday marks the annual Sleepy Hollow's Fire Department Open House. More info here.

Aren't able to see a firefighter this week in person? Here's a helpful site for residents to check for more fire safety tips and information. And there's even a free fire safety app for kids (and adults) that Tarrytown firefighter Mike Coffey recommends called Burny's Fire Safety here.

2) Who in town works from home? Or, in your home away from home at Tarrytown's W@tercooler? Weigh in here on where and how you work these days and find out how many of your neighbors may be telecommuting too.
