Leading Elder Law Expert Anthony Enea to Address High Costs of Aging and Long Term Care at W@tercooler Speaker Series

August 16th Seminar to Provide Seniors and Their Adult Children Helpful Information and Legal Strategies to Protect Their Families’ Assets 

New York’s leading expert on elder law, Anthony Enea, will be speaking about the high costs of aging, particularly long term care, on Thursday, August 16 at 7 p.m. at the W@tercooler office complex in Tarrytown.  Seniors and their adult children as well as other interested attendees will receive an overview of some of the best legal strategies available to help protect their own and their families’ hard-earned assets.

Mr. Enea has been practicing elder law in New York for more than 25 years.  He is managing partner at the White Plains law firm Enea, Scanlan and Sirignano.  He also serves as Chair of the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA).  In his NYSBA leadership position Mr. Enea oversees the activities of roughly 2,800 member lawyers -- all of whom practice various specialty areas of elder law and are committed to protecting New York's seniors and disabled populations.

Thursday evening’s seminar will provide attendees the opportunity to learn many helpful facts on a number of elder law topics of interest including: asset preservation strategies, estate planning, guardianships, wills and Medicare and Medicaid planning. 

The event will take place at W@tercooler, a modern co-working facility situated in the heart of Tarrytown at 21 North Broadway, Tarrytown, N.Y.  Food and beverage will be provided. Participation is $20 per person, and $15 per person for W@tercooler members.

When my kids were in school in Tarrytown, we would get a list at the beginning of every school year of the supplies we needed to buy. The parents were asked to buy a separate looseleaf binder for every single class our kids were taking and, for some classes, they asked for a looseleaf AND a spiral notebook. When I was in school, each kid had ONE looseleaf and we separated classes with dividers. Having SIX or seven loose leafs adds to backpack weight and costs a lot of money. My kids supply bills were often close to $100 apiece. The teachers have bought into this idea that all of these supplies are necessary and they are not. I'm not surprised that Staples is offering "rewards programs." Their advertising and marketing efforts have convinced the teachers that you must have a package of 12 red correcting pens, per child.
