Make Thanksgiving Dinner a Night To Remember at DoubleTree by Hilton-Tarrytown

Why spend Thanksgiving Day in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning up the mess?  Relax and leave the cooking to Bistro Z, the upscale modern American bistro at the DoubleTree by Hilton-Tarrytown Hotel, which will be presenting its renowned Thanksgiving Dinner as well as a memorable occasion for the entire family.

The menu is as follows:

A raw bar of jumbo cocktail shrimp, oysters and clams on the half shell

An assortment of soups and salads including sweet potato and ginger bisque. A cider glazed root vegetable salad with wild rice and farro. Brussels sprouts salad with toasted walnuts and pecorino, salad of seasonal greens and garnishes with assorted dressings and red cabbage, pear and winter squash slaw with apricot dressing

Bread selections include assorted artisanal breads and rolls, flavored oils and sweet butter plus domestic, imported and artisanal cheeses

Delicious entrees and sides include a traditional carved roast turkey with gravy and apple sage stuffing and orange cranberry relish. Baked country ham, Tuscan eggplant ravioli with Kalamata olives, leeks and roasted plum tomato mascarpone sauce. Panko-crusted Alaskan cod with lemon caper sauce. Sides include mashed potatoes, candied yams, fresh corn spoon bread, green beans, carrots and broccoli rabe.

Enjoy apple, pecan and pumpkin pies for dessert. Additional desserts offered are rice pudding, panna cotta, and festive mini holiday desserts

Complimentary champagne is included.

Bistro Z’s Thanksgiving Day buffet will be served from 11 AM to 3 PM.  Make your reservations now at (914) 524-6410.  The price is just $38 per adult, $19 for young adults and $10 for children under 12.

When my kids were in school in Tarrytown, we would get a list at the beginning of every school year of the supplies we needed to buy. The parents were asked to buy a separate looseleaf binder for every single class our kids were taking and, for some classes, they asked for a looseleaf AND a spiral notebook. When I was in school, each kid had ONE looseleaf and we separated classes with dividers. Having SIX or seven loose leafs adds to backpack weight and costs a lot of money. My kids supply bills were often close to $100 apiece. The teachers have bought into this idea that all of these supplies are necessary and they are not. I'm not surprised that Staples is offering "rewards programs." Their advertising and marketing efforts have convinced the teachers that you must have a package of 12 red correcting pens, per child.
