On August 13th, the Town Board of Greenburgh voted unanimously to approve a 15 year land lease with Game On 365 to build The Westchester Field House; a year-round, indoor, multi-sport recreational facility. Many Greenburgh residents however are unaware that there will be a Town referendum on the November 6th presidential ballot to approve the lease.
To help spread the word this past weekend, members of Game On 365 spoke to area residents at soccer games and homecoming football games in Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry and Sleepy Hollow to share information about the upcoming vote. Often, Greenburgh residents were unaware that a public referendum this coming election day will require a “Yes” vote on Town Proposition 1 to get this exciting project approved.
The project, if approved, would not only provide improvements to Town owned property at the former Frank's Nursery site at 715 Dobbs Ferry Road, but it would generate over $5 million in Tax and Lease Payments to the Town of Greenburgh over the 15 year lease term.
All Greenburgh residents including the Villages of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Hastings, Irvington and Tarrytown will have the opportunity to move this project forward and will see Town Proposition 1 on the ballot this election day.
