Castle Hotel & Spa to Host its First Super Bowl Tailgate Party

(Tarrytown, NY) – January 2014 – Castle Hotel & Spa is hosting its first Super Bowl tailgate party to celebrate SUPER BOWL XLVIII. It is an escape from the cold and an escape to some of the best party finger foods in the region! With the 19th century Tapestry Lounge as the setting for the party with an HD TV screen in the Lounge and the General’s Bar, a blazing fire, and a celebrated Culinary Team providing the food, it is clearly an alternative to the traffic, cold, crowds, and not-so-good stadium cuisine. Forget parking at MetLife Stadium!

In addition to being the first such party at Castle Hotel & Spa, it is also the first Super Bowl being played outdoors in the February cold-weather environment, and the first game in 28 years to be played outdoors on artificial turf. This year also marks the first time that a New York area stadium has hosted the Super Bowl since the Green Bay Packers beat the New York Giants at Yankee Stadium in 1962.

The 197-year old Farmers’ Almanac notably says we can expect that a strong winter storm will hit the area around the time of the Super Bowl, using words like “piercing cold” and “biting cold”.

According to General Manager, Gilbert Baeriswil, there have been numerous requests about a Super Bowl Tailgate Party at Castle Hotel & Spa. “Guests have enjoyed so many great occasions here” said Baeriswil, “they want to come back and cheer on their team to victory in front of a blazing fireplace. Instead of a cooler of beer, there will be an assortment of mixed drinks, champagne, scotch and an assortment of popular beers. The a la carte East Meets West Super Bowl menu will also feature finger foods that include spicy tuna rolls, braised heritage pork belly with “firecracker slaw” and Peking duck spring rolls with hoisin/sweet chili sauce.
