Jazz Forum Arts to Host ‘Jazz & Cocktails’ at Historic Lyndhurst on July 30

The majestic 67-acre Lyndhurst estate on the Hudson River will provide the backdrop for a wonderful evening celebrating Jazz Forum Arts (www.jazzforumarts.org), and the 36 free concerts the not-for profit organization is hosting throughout Westchester, Connecticut and Manhattan this summer.

The event at the Lyndhurst Greenhouse, built by Lord & Burnham in 1900 for Jay Gould, will be held on Tuesday, July 30 from 6-8:30 pm and will feature live jazz by Mark Morganelli & The Jazz Forum All-Stars with Vic Juris, guitar, Cameron Brown, bass and Tony Jefferson, drums. Summer cocktails, beer, wine and delicious Soul Food from Nikki Toi will be served.

According to Morganelli, who also serves as executive director of Jazz Forum Arts, “We’re doubling the number of free events at Lyndhurst this summer, offering eight Thursday ‘Sunset Jazz at Lyndhurst’ concerts from July 11 to August 29. We hope music lovers will join us on July 30th for a fun time and to help us bring more and more exciting jazz programs into Westchester and the region each year.”

Highlights of the summer concert schedule include the Monterey Jazz Festival Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Friday, July 5 at the Hudson River Museum’s new Amphitheatre in Yonkers; a lunchtime Brazilian Jazz Series at Chase bank’s corporate headquarters in White Plains; percussionist Ralph Irizarry and bassist Nilson Matta leading their groups in a brand new series at John Jay College on Manhattan’s West Side; and a Bird’s Birthday Bash for the finale August 29 at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown.
