Phelps Adds Three New Board Members

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY – John Barnes of Briarcliff Manor, Fred Mascia of Ossining and Aubrey Hawes of Sleepy Hollow were recently elected to the Board of Directors of Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, a 238-bed community hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Members of the Board serve a three-year term and may serve up to three terms. John Barnes is President and CEO of Barnes Enterprises, Inc., a financial consulting company. From 1986-1995 he was Chief Financial Officer of United Media, a subsidiary of E.W. Scripps Company. He has also held positions with Pepsico and American Broadcasting Company, where he was director of planning, budgets and financial analysis. Barnes has volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America for Westchester/Putnam, where he served on the Investment Committee, and the American Management Association, where he sat on the CFO Financial Advisory Board, comprised of CFOs from Fortune 500 companies. He is a co-author of BLG Ventures 2002 Guide to Venture Capital & Angel Investors for Women & Minorities. Fred Mascia is a consultant with INTL FC Stone, a Fortune 500 company that provides execution and advisory services in commodities, capital markets, currencies and asset management around the world. He founded Commodity Operations, Inc. in 1982 and has served as Executive VP since then. He is a current member of the NYMEX Exchange. Mascia is a former board member of Futures and Options for Kids, where he held positions of Vice Chairman and Chairman, and a current board member of Burn Care Everywhere Foundation. Mascia has also been a Volunteer Fireman with the Tarrytown Fire Department since 1968. He graduated from Hobart College with a BA in American history. Aubrey Hawes retired in 1998 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Director of Marketing Resources after a 17-year career with the former Chase Manhattan Bank. Prior to that, he held senior positions at several U.S. advertising agencies. Mr. Hawes has been a member of the Phelps Development Committee since 2009 and is a member of the Kendal on Hudson Board of Directors. He has held leadership roles in community organizations including the Family YMCA of Tarrytown, the Elizabeth Mascia Child Care Center, the Rotary Club of the Tarrytowns, and the WNET/13 Advisory Board of Directors. He has also held leadership positions with the Advertising Council, the Advertising Club of New York and the Advertising Education Foundation, among others.
