Pile Driving May Begin this Afternoon

Notice from the Village of Tarrytown:

Test pile driving for the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge may begin this afternoon.  There are a number of factors that will control whether the test pile driving begins this afternoon, tomorrow or Monday; however, the Village wanted to make residents aware that it will occur very soon.  There are 15 test piles that will be set along the new bridge location over the next 2 months.~ After the test pile work is completed, the test piles will be removed and the pile driving for the bridge piles to hold up the bridge will start. ~~The setting of those piles will start in October.  Please note that pile driving is permitted Monday through Friday, from 7am to 7pm and on Saturday from 12noon to 7pm.  Pile driving is not permitted on Sunday.  The maximum allowable noise level is~90 decibels.
