Community Corner
Sleepy Hollow Lions at Saturday Street Fair
Thanks to the generosity of the Mahopac National Bank, the Sleepy Hollow Lions will be present at the Sleepy Hollow Street Fair on Beekman Avenue this Saturday, September 7.
"We are a locally managed community bank --- we live here, too ," says Sleepy Hollow Branch Manager Gary Solomon. "Our goal as a business is to help improve the vitality of our community. And am hard pressed to think of an organization with a greater commitment to service and improving their communities than Lions Clubs."
"Lions Clubs work with the vision impaired, and help the less fortunate in their communities. Lions are entirely volunteer -- ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of monies raised go toward charitable programs and projects." according to Gary, who is also a member of the Sleepy Hollow Club, and is serving this year as Club President.
" When I approached the decision makers in my organization about Lions Clubs, and began explaining how Lions are involved with eye screenings, eyeglass collection and recycling, food drives, toy drives, and Adopt-a-Family projects, they offered their resounding support."
The Lions will have an information table in front of Mahopac National Bank this Saturday. They will be on hand to answer any questions on their service initiatives , from their Special Olympics partnership, macular degeneration and low vision accommodation programs, youth development , and to addressing of community specific needs.
