A sunny Saturday morning at the Philipse Manor Beach Club was met with a sad discovery: folks at the Sleepy Hollow private beach came across a dead dog that had washed ashore.
One woman, who wished to remain unnamed, was concerned that someone out there might be missing their dog and never know what became of it.
"It could be devastating to never know," she said.
A kid who was at the scene that morning described the dog to her as on the small side, white with black spots.
Now it was partially decomposed, bloated from the water, and likely tossed in a dumpster, the woman said.
