Ice is the Culprit

The season's first winter storm led to a 20-car pile-up on the Bronx River Parkway and school closings and delays throughout the lower Hudson Valley.

Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow schools are on time, though their students might not be as conditions are still icy on many local roads and sidewalks. Nearby, Ossining schools are on a two-hour delay.

The National Weather Service's winter weather advisory extends till noon in Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties. It ended in southern Westchester at 9 a.m. 

News 12 reported the BRP crash, at 11 p.m. Dec. 8 in Yonkers, sent 30 people to the hospital. None were seriously injured. 

Westchester County officials report Bee Line buses on or close to schedule and Westchester County Airport is open. 

Metro North reports delays on the Harlem and New Haven lines. 

Another burst of snow will hit the mid-Atlantic tomorrow, the NWS said.
