Sewer Break Reported Behind Randolph Road in Greenburgh

Residents of the Randolph and Benedict roads area of Greenburgh can expect "noise and disruption" for the next five days while Public Works crews work on a sewer break.

Greenburgh officials Wednesday reported the town is dealing with a "substantial" sewer break behind Randolph Road in the Fulton Park area.

According to an email from Public Works Commissioner Victor Carosi to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, residents in the areas of Randolph and Benedict roads "noise and disruption" while work on the sewer is underway.

The work is expected to take five days, during which time loud pumps will be in operation 24 hours per day.

Below is the text of the Carosi email:

We have a substantial sewer break in the brook behind Randolph Road.  We expect noise and disruption to residents along Randolph Road and Benedict Road during the work.  This will include operating a large pump and having pipes along the street for probably the next five days. The pumping will be necessary to operate 24-hours a day. The pump ordered is fitted with noise dampening mufflers, but it still will be noisy.

I would like to inform the neighborhood association and/or key residents in this area.
