Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown Address Street Parking Abuses

In Tarrytown, some train commuters in the know cross the H-bridge and come park themselves at Division Street, for free, all day.

No more. Tarrytown has set up meters there, as they have in other train-area spots on the other side of the train tracks. They aren't operable yet, but will be coming soon.

Sleepy Hollow hopes to solve the same issue by placing not meters but a two-hour parking limit on River Street, College and the length of Beekman.

The public hearings on this proposal are closed and Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio says that the proposal likely won't change based on the feedback. The Board has 61 days to make a decision from when the hearing was closed on June 25. He did say hoever that the Board is considering the idea of having on-street permits, which would require special State legislation.

What do you think is a good solution for these Sleepy Hollow streets? Does this affect you? Weigh in below.
