UPDATE: Little if Any Snow in New York March 3

UPDATE 5:45 AM March 3

The snow is all to the south. About 1/2 inch total accumulation is forecast for Long Island and the Hudson Valley.

UPDATE 7PM March 2

There's still a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Long Island, but Rockland, Westchester and Putnam counties are forecasted to see very little of this particular snowstorm overnight March 2-3. 

The Hudson Valley may see an inch of snow before the sun comes out Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service says.

Here is the weather advisory for Long Island:

* LOCATIONS...NEW YORK CITY...LONG ISLAND AND PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY.
 * HAZARD TYPES...SNOW. * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES.
 * WINDS...NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.
 * TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 20S.
 * TIMING...TONIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING.
 * IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DUE TO REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...MAINLY DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

5 PM March 1: A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for March 2-3 for Long Island.

The expected snowstorm is not expected to have as great an impact on the Hudson Valley, where the National Weather Service has only issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook.

For Long Island:

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches.

* Winds... north 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... lower 30s Sunday evening... mid to upper 20s
Sunday night... lower 20s Monday.

* Visibilities... one quarter to one half mile at times.

* Timing... late Sunday afternoon into Monday.

* Impacts... hazardous travel due to reduced visibilities and 
snow accumulations... especially during the Monday morning 
commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

For Rockland, Putnam and Westchester counties:

* Accumulations: up to 6 inches of snow

* Winds: 10 to 15 mph

* Temperatures: Lows around 19 Sunday night...highs in the lower 20s Monday...lows around 10 overnight Monday

* Timing... late Sunday afternoon into Monday
