On Saturday, May 4, 2013, violinist Benjamin Beilman, together with his piano collaborator Yekwon Sunwoo, will perform works by Francis Poulenc, Johannes Brahms, Olivier Messiaen and Franz Schubert. Beilman is the recipient of Friends of Music Concerts’ Fourth Performance Award, made to a winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York City. Among his many other accomplishments, Beilman is also the first prize winner of the Montréal International Music Competition and the People’s Choice Award. Just twenty years old, he has been commended by Musical America on his “impeccable” playing and “eloquence and flair.” Beilman is now on the roster of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Society II, and has been performing recitals in the Yong Concert Artists Series in New York. This past spring he received a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Gil French from The American Record Guide explained how he’s come so far so fast when he said, “Atmosphere, chilling and gripping, is the quality that Benjamin Beilman conveyed from his first opening note.” www.benjaminbeilman.instantencore.com
