On Saturday, November 3, 2012, the Modigliani String Quartet returns to the Friends of Music Concerts stage by popular demand, after almost three years since their first appearance in 2009, to perform works by Franz Joseph Haydn, Robert Schumann and Maurice Ravel. The four close friends, Philippe Bernhard, Loïc Rio, Laurent Marfaing and François Kieffer, formed the group in 2003 and will soon celebrate ten years together. Just one year after they formed, the group attracted national attention by winning the Frits Philips String Quartet Competition in Eindhoven. In 2011-12 they were selected for the ECHO Rising Star tour of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls and have released four award-winning CDs. Their talent was obvious to The Washington Post in February 2007 when its critic wrote that, “With its immense musical gifts, this foursome has the potential to someday reach the top echelon.” www.modiglianiquartet.com

Subscriptions for all six concerts are $120 for adults, $60 for students. Tickets for individual concerts are $30 for adults and $15 for students.  Order forms may be downloaded from www.friendsofmusicconcerts.org and then mailed with a check to Friends of Music Concerts, P.O. Box 675, Millwood, NY 10546.
