And in a Flash, They're Off

Last year was different for my new Pre-K girl: our excitement to get her on a bus for the first time languished curb-side for about an hour as we waited...and waited...and waited. Patience is a good lesson for Pre-K kids!

This time, it's the big Kindergarten and in a dash she was off. Full day (though this first week is only a brief two hours), much heavier backpack, and life is going to dramatically change for this working mom and my two gals.

I'll admit I'm probably more psyched about this relief from the doldrums of summer's end than Kaia is, though she's certainly thrilled too.

Today the bus came the second we got there and little sister and I barely had a second to kiss her goodbye and wish her well. She didn't even remember to wave goodbye from inside her big bus seat as she looked around to see what new friends she'd make.

I know she'll be just fine.
