On Monday the Sleepy Hollow girls basketball team beat Edgemont 62-36 for the team’s 16th straight win to end the regular season with a 17-1 record. The first playoff game is expected to be on Friday, February 15th at Sleepy Hollow. The team broke into the New York State Sportswriters rankings last week, coming in number 25 in Class A before moving up to 23rd in this week’s poll.
Monday’s Senior Day game celebrated the contributions of captain Daniella Carissimo, who head coach Nick Romeo commended for her role in the team’s 46-12 record in her 3 varsity years, and who is nearing 500 career rebounds. Daniella had 13 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
