Brand New Stop & Shop Opens its Automatic Doors

On Thursday, March 22 interested residents, the Chamber of Commerce and local officials previewed the new Stop & Shop store on 119.

Located at 610 White Plains Road, the recently complete facility is 58,635 square feet which makes it double the size of the original Tarrytown store down the road (and now closed).

The sparkling new building features many green construction initiatives meant to conserve energy and reduce overall impact on the environment.  The store will be hosting celebrations and special events in the weeks to come to commemorate the opening of its doors.

Very exciting! We had a great time visiting the new store. They gave out lots of treats. We used to drive to Ossining, and the man behind the fish counter normally works at the Ossining store. He saw us coming, and yelled out, "TRAITORS!" I've never had so much fun at a grocery store.
