POLL: Best Place to Dine on Someone Else's Dime?

Last chance to answer this week's Readers' Choice poll: what splurgeworthy Tarrytown or Sleepy Hollow restaurant would you choose when you're not paying?

Here's a fun one: Let's say you have a rich uncle or a mysterious benefactor or anyone who earns more money than you who wants to take you out to dinner. Perhaps somewhere you've always wanted to go and never have, or went to once for a special occasion you wouldn't mind reliving. Or maybe, you just like the place you like and don't need to be so fussy.

Would you opt for the royal treatment at the Castle, the fresh farmfood of Stone Barns? Italian on Beekman? A good steak?

We've compiled a list of the white tablecloth restaurants here in the mid-to-high price range. If we're missing something special, let us know and we'll add it in. (But keep it to Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, please).

As always, tell us why you voted the way you did in the comments, and please note:

Poll is open until 9 a.m. Friday. In the event of a tie, the Editor will determine the winner based on which business has the highest combined number of positive comments and positive reviews on its directory listings (see attached rules for more details). We will announce the winner at noon Friday. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Imaginative and delicious food, lovingly prepared and attractively served, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The desserts are unbeatable!

Which restaurant are you referring to? Sounds great!

Stone Barn definitely. If it's good enough for Michele Obama, it's good enough for me!

I guess I would pick Stone Barns. Since we've never wanted to pay for what it costs to eat there, it's a little hard to say for sure! My sister says that everyone she knows who has actually eaten there says that you are still hungry when you leave. For those who have gone there, is this true????

A reminder to also click links to rate these places in our directory, as that will factor into our Winner tabulations!
