Biz Briefs: Goodbye to Believe, Hello to RiverMarket

On the Tarrytown side of things there's so much action the only question is where to begin?

Sadly, Believe Juice & Books, after such a long effort to open, has shuttered with owner Enzo Simone trying to sell the place as a turn-key operation for $45,000. He is back pursuing his architectural background, which he did put to good use here in this immaculate shop. We will miss his good juices, company, and inspiration and hope someone will jump in on this ready-made theme. Though it may be hard to fill his mountain-climbing shoes!

Finally: RiverMarket has surmounted all the usual opening obstacles and announced it’s in business at last. They bring class and cuisine to the riverfront with a bar and kitchen in an expansive space at Hudson Harbor.

In Sleepy Hollow, it's been a little, well, sleepier. Beekman was a bit of a ghost town in the last few weeks of summer, with places like the Sleepy Hollow Gourmet and Fleetwood Pizza closed for vacation. But school’s back in action and so are these shops that really need your patronage!

Build a Gut luncheonette is still under the same management but is trying out a different approach with their new name TOTO.

Now if only we can fill those empty storefronts (former 2nd Nature shop, former hair salon in the Van Tassel, etc.) with some truly interesting options. What gets your vote for what type businesses you’d like to see on Beekman? Weigh in below.
