Barring some recent heat over Mrs. Green's dumpster one day and high prices in general, I still find myself greatly enjoying Tarrytown's new store.
A few of my favorite things about Mrs. Green's:
1. This week they had me at $1.29 for a nice (not at all old) three-pack of avocados. Nice!!! (With a free three-pack of exclamation points).
2. I like getting my rice and couscous and unpopped corn kernels and such poured into my (reusable) paper bag. I always lament the packaging on such items.
3. Snacks! Today I sampled: cranberry pecan bread, stuffed peppers, potato nan, mocha java roast.
4. So fun for little ones. My kids are thrilled to help when they have their own pint-sized shopping carts. We feed the piggy bank our $.25, grab a little apple and set forth on our commerce education.
5. Freebies. This week with $50 purchase: smoked salmon, mussels (they were out, replace with some frozen fillets), mini-muffins and more with another one of those great picnic-with-white-wine friendly totes.
