La Fuente Meets in June: Improving Mental Health Services for the Hispanic and Latino Community

La Fuente, a coalition of organizations committed to providing current resources and information to the Spanish speaking population in Westchester will meet on June 11th, 10:00am at Westchester Independent Living Services (WILC).

A presentation and exploration with Brian Hollander, WILC Community Outreach Coordinator and Christina Eisenberg, Minority Outreach Specialist and Educational Advocate, on mental health services for the Hispanic and Latino Community will be the focus of the meeting. The presentation will include cultural competence, stressors on individuals, facts and myths about treatment, factors influencing how we serve individuals and families, and how to improve mental health services to the Hispanic and Latino community. Barriers to care and best practices for care and engagement will be addressed. A discussion will follow.

The public is welcome. Organizations currently working with the Spanish speaking population or organizations that would like to develop more effective outreach are encouraged to attend.
