Tompkins Landscaping President Graduates from Westchester Academy for Entrepreneurial Excellence

Stacey Tompkins, President of Tompkins Landscaping Corporation, recently graduated from the Academy for Entrepreneurial Excellence in Westchester. Tompkins was one of eight members of the Class of 2014 who received a certificate at the graduation dinner at Sam’s Gedney Way in White Plains, NY.

“I learned new information that will help make my company more competitive in the marketplace,” Tompkins said. “I would highly recommend this course to a small business owner that is looking to step up their game.”

The Academy is a partnership between Westchester Community College’s Gateway to Entrepreneurship and The Business Council of Westchester. The local businessmen and women spent 12 weeks immersed in sessions dedicated to bringing their business to the next level.

“When these entrepreneurs decided to grow their businesses, they came to the Academy,” according to WCC. “Unlike most business programs, participants here learn from experts in their fields on how to turn a developing business into a thriving one. “

The eight graduates are: Bonnie Krois of Cure Development,  Janeen Violante of Hudson Valley Graphic Design, Jann Mirchandani of The Marketing Café, Hana Rubin of The Maxon Companies, James Simons of Cure Development, Nick Califano of Yonkers Brewery, Stacey Tompkins of Tompkins Landscaping, and Ernie Molina of Lola Granola Bar.

Tompkins, a married mother of three, has held her position as President of the family-owned company since 2013. There, her role has been to oversee the execution of services including but not limited to commercial excavation, hardscape and landscape design and installation, property development and residential and road construction in Putnam, Westchester, Rockland and Dutchess counties. Prior to her promotion she held the title of Vice President for 10 years.

Apart from her professional accomplishments, Tompkins has spent much of her time immersed in the community and partaking in philanthropic efforts. She is a member of the Business Council of Westchester, Rising Tides Alliance, Woman's Small Business Advisory Board, and the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber's Board of Directors. She is a PTA Executive Board Member in Putnam Valley, as well as a member of the Citizen Advisory Board for the Putnam Valley Central School District and a Parent Representative for the Putnam Valley HS Building Steering Committee.
