Solar Energy in the Rivertowns

It used to be I had to drive to my native Rochester to see solar panels on homes and businesses.  On the way up, we always saw installations off route 17 and 81.  Now, we do not have to look further than the Rivertowns.

The Solar Energy Industry has been growing dramatically over the past few years, but the impact has not been felt in our area until recently. Now, we are starting to see the impact.  You can see solar power on people's homes and even on local businesses. 

Solar Energy (either electricity or hot water) makes a lot of sense, a lot of dollars and cents.  You can save a tremendous portion of your ConEd bill by creating your own electricity.  There is no better feeling than the feeling you get when you watch your meter spin backwards, knowing that ConEd is paying you for your electricity.  In this world where corporations and government overreach are making us feel that much less powerful - solar energy does just the opposite.  It allows you to choose your own fate.
