Friday and Saturday were picture perfect and Halloween festivities were a hit in both villages. On Friday night, Patch had a booth at Beekman's Block Party and took a ride on that spectacular hayride.
Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio reported that Saturday's turn out was twice as big for the hayride on Saturday night. Sunday's night hayride was cancelled, but at least there were two good nights this year after last year's snow bust.
Then here was the action down Route 9 and onto Main Street on Saturday, with a lively parade including marching bands, a few decorated VW bugs, a costumed ambulance corps, giant skeletons and so much more. As promised, it all went a little later, a little darker.
The block party included performances from Tarrytown's new Westchester Circus School, Coffee Labs raffles to raise money for breast cancer, candy apples, beer and dancing to the oldies from the AM Band.
Thanks to everyone from both villages who worked so hard all month to make these events happen. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed them. Thanks also to JoAnne Murray for some photos from the parade. Have your own videos and pics? Share them here.
Now back to Sandy...
