In order to begin work on its giant rebuild, the needs to raise another $2 million toward its goal of $7 million.
Until then there's community outreach, education and good will: for Sunday's free 'Building and Bagels' event, the JCC invited the public to have another opportunity to tour and write messages on the walls of the new 75,000 square-foot site, this time after eating bagels and enjoying the magic show of Joe Fields.
The planned 6.6-acre campus includes the site of the old GM Training Center in Tarrytown, and will boast two swimming pools, a fitness center, café, gym and performance space — and become the biggest Jewish community center in the county.
Public Relations Director Danielle McAuley said they should begin demolition in the next few months...hopefully no magic required.
