Dobbs Ferry Mentioned in ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Trailer

The river village is named in the upcoming Fox TV series' trailer.

While Sleepy Hollow residents anxiously await the fall premiere of FOX TV’s series “Sleepy Hollow,”—a twist and continuation on Washington Irving’s tale of the Headless Horseman—neighboring river villages also have something to boast about.

The latest trailer for the show, scheduled for Mondays at 9 p.m., makes reference to an unsolved homicide in Dobbs Ferry, which is seemingly perpetrated by the Headless Horseman who was blasted into present times from the past along with Ichabod Crane, played by Tom Mison.

When Crane finds himself in present day Sleepy Hollow he comes across local police and explains to then that he was under the orders of Gen. George Washington to kill a man and admits to cutting off his head.

The Headless Horseman, who is "death itself" and one of the four horseman of the apocalypse, travels250 years into the future to finish his reign of destruction.

The storyline follows Crane and local police who use mystic and occult clues left by the founding fathers to save humanity and battle evil, while protecting the good. The show comes from co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who wrote and produced the latest “Star Trek” film.

The trailer also depicts a sign that reads “Village of Sleepy Hollow” pop. 144,000, though the U.S. Census puts the village’s population at only 9,967 in 2012.
