Update: Downed Lines Block Clinton Street

Sleepy Hollow Police report many outages but only a few incidents from last night's storm.

Sleepy Hollow received less damages than Tarrytown from the last night’s strong winds and rains but more outages, reports Lieutenant Frank Hrotko.

The top half of a Con Edison pole fell down at Clinton near Beekman, making for a dramatic scene and blocking the street with downed lines. Until Con Edison arrives, an officer guards the area from passersby. Caution tape blocks off a portion of Beekman at the head of Clinton Street and Clinton down to Depeyster.

A tree fell in Sleepy Hollow Manor damaging one car and causing outtages in the surrounding homes.

“Nothing major,” said Hrotko.

In Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, Con Edison reports six outages with 71 customers affected. Two of these outages are in the manors – one in Sleepy Hollow Manor and one in Philipse Manor – with a total of 56 customers in the dark.

In Tarrytown, there are three separate outages in the Castle Heights neighborhood, with a total of 12 customers affected.

Con Edison expects service to be restored by 11 p.m. tonight. SHPD said they're waiting on Con Ed crews to come repair the downed pole on Beekman.
