"People say that money is not the key to happiness, but I always figured if you have enough money, you can have a key made." - Joan Rivers

About the Workshop:

This presentation is specifically tailored for women who wish to be financially independent and empower themselves to take control of their financial future. It is for women looking to gain the knowledge and tools they need to make it possible to be self-reliant and never have to be dependent upon a family member, partner, company or the government to take care of them!

This 2-hour workshop is designed to help women understand the process of creating a life in which they are in charge, with an income plan that ensures emotional, physical and financial balance, and results in putting the confidence and trust in themselves throughout all stages of their lives.

What does it take to be financially independent? Based on your life goals, we will talk about what you need to accomplish financially, and how you plan on getting there. Getting the right advice is the first step.

Some of the key topics that will be discussed in this workshop include:

Increased Longevity with women is redefining retirement and how we approach financial planning. Find out how to be prepared for a long healthy life while maintaining the lifestyle you are accustomed to in your retirement years.

We know that it's more than just the money for women, it's the total picture. Equally important to most women is the well being of yourself and your family. Learn how to achieve this health/wealth connection in order to enjoy happiness, security and life balance.

When unexpected life events happen, learn how to be prepared for the loss of income associated with a premature death of spouse, an unexpected divorce, or the long term care needs of aging parents.

Life planning and systems to address potential ongoing or occasional legal or tax issues must be part of one's overall financial plan. Get the tools to plan for both the expected and unexpected.

Feel abundant and in control of your finances and savings. Discover what is needed to gain control of your financial future while living a wealthier life today.

Take the first step towards achieving financial freedom on your own terms by signing up for this informational workshop being presented by New York City financial advisor, Ryan Payne, at W@tercooler on Tuesday, January 15th.

A big part of the problem is that the teachers' expectations about what supplies are necessary haveRead More become so extreme. When my kids were in school in Tarrytown, we would get a list at the beginning of every school year of the supplies we needed to buy. The parents were asked to buy a separate looseleaf binder for every single class our kids were taking and, for some classes, they asked for a looseleaf AND a spiral notebook. When I was in school, each kid had ONE looseleaf and we separated classes with dividers. Having SIX or seven loose leafs adds to backpack weight and costs a lot of money. My kids supply bills were often close to $100 apiece. The teachers have bought into this idea that all of these supplies are necessary and they are not. I'm not surprised that Staples is offering "rewards programs." Their advertising and marketing efforts have convinced the teachers that you must have a package of 12 red correcting pens, per child.
